CNUP Public Advocacy Seminar

On October 7, 2009, Mark Rasenick, professor of physiology, biophysics and psychiatry at the University of Illinois at Chicago, visited the Pittsburgh neuroscience community and presented a special seminar entitled, Advocacy for Biomedical Research: Amalgamating Policy, Politics and Passion.

Rasenick, a successful neuroscientist, longtime neuroscience advocate, and Robert Wood Johnson health-policy fellow, has been profiled in a Nature article entitled, "Putting politics back into science." The article also provides an overview of early career policy fellowship options for scientists. CNUP members had the opportunity to speak with Rasenick about his research and science policy during his visit.
