We’re the co-directors of the Center for Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh (CNUP), which oversees all neuroscience education-related activities on the Pitt campus. The CNUP is a multidisciplinary center with members whose primary appointments are in 21 different Basic Science and Clinical departments. The research interests of CNUP faculty span the breadth of neuroscience, and include a number of unique areas of concentration. The CNUP has a strong sense of community that is clearly evident in the highly interactive and collaborative nature of our faculty and their research programs.

One of the major responsibilities of the CNUP is to oversee doctoral training in neuroscience at Pitt, and we are very proud of our 121 training faculty and 86 pre-doctoral students. A major goal of our program is to train the next generation of neuroscientists for leading positions in academia and industry. The CNUP receives strong support from the University and from a large pre-doctoral training grant that has been funded by the National Institutes of Health for more than 20 years.

Sincerely,
