Each fall, the center sponsors an annual retreat at Oglebay Resort and Conference Center, a serene 1,700-acre resort nestled in the hills of nearby West Virginia. This extremely popular event is open to graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, medical residents, and training faculty, and annually attracts more than 150 attendees. The retreat is a blend of academic, social, and outdoor activities. Prominent visiting scientists deliver formal presentations, followed by trainee-led discussions. Most of the weekend is devoted to relaxed and informal interactions between trainees, CNUP faculty, and the keynote speakers
